The incredible economic growth of Silicon Valley, Gilroy, and Morgan Hill has reached San Benito County as well. The area has become a popular relocation spot for urban Californians looking for a close-knit community and affordable housing. New housing in San Benito County has boomed, and the number of families with incomes above $70,000 has dramatically increased.

Looking for a great "hometown" atmosphere, where people are friendly, the weather is pleasant and homes are still affordable? Welcome to San Benito County!

While the home prices in San Benito county, as in the rest of the Greater Bay Area, have appreciated significantly over the past year (average of 22%), the home prices here are still the best value within commuting distance of Silicon Valley. The inventory of homes available range from $295,000 to over $1 million, with a significant number priced around the medium home price of $390,000.

With the medium home price in Santa Clara County hovering at just under $700,000, it's easy to see ---- for value, quality of life and a friendly, hometown community, that San Benito County is worth the drive to "come home to."

The growth and gains that our small town of Hollister has seen in the past two years validate our community as a viable contender in the Real Estate market. We must remember to be responsible in our growth so as not to disqualify our inventory in the future.
